Julie Nutting style canvas

Hi Peeps!  :)
I bet you thought I was never going to blog again LOL!  My computer crashed before Thanksgiving and we just ordered a new hard drive and monitor a few days ago and I'm waiting for it to arrive so for now I have to use my Father-In-Laws computer!  I cannot wait until mine comes in!!!
I've been busy with family and knitting for a craft show I was in that I haven't had any time to play with my canvas's but I sat down Wednesday and Thursday and finished the following:
This one I was inspired by Julie Nutting's Collage Couture.  I sketched out the doll then put her on book paper and cut her out.  I also sketched out the blouse, skirt, sash, headband and shoes then cut them out of patterned paper.  I used Pink Paisley's 12 x 12 Butterfly Garden paper for the background of the canvas and for her outfit I used Basic Grey's 6x6 Serendipity paper pack.  The butterflies are wood veneer from Studio Calico and I mixed blue, white and green paint together and painted them.  I didn't come up with the quote but I can't remember where I saw it.  This canvas is 11 x 14
Ok here is the next one:
This one I actually put together on my own.  I used Tim Holtz Sizzix die; Alterations Sewing Room and Weathered Clock and Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Splatters.  I used dress pattern tissue paper for the background and material for the dress and some lace I had.  I wrapped yellow and white bakers twine around the spool and threaded the buttons with it.  You can't see it but the twine wraps around.  I guess I'm going to have to outline it.  The quote is not mine but an old saying I heard.  A stitch in time saves nine.  This canvas is 8 x 10
Well I hope you liked my new creations!  I will be making more of the Julie Nutting dolls.  They are so much fun to draw and turn into art.
If I don't blog before Wednesday I hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas!!

Well anyway that is what I've been doing!  I have another canvas planned so be looking for it soon (I hope LOL).  I hope to make a picture tutorial for you :) as I put it together.

Hi Everyone :)

A while back I posted that I wanted to give away some blog candy once I met 100 subscribers.  Well that seems a long way off and since I've hit 31 I think I will give the prize away.  Here is the candy:

I will include the people who subscribed to my blog and left a comment back in May as well as anyone else who subscribes and leaves a comment on this post.

I will be picking a winner on November 18.  Unfortunately to recieve the Tsunami Rose prize I had to get to 100 subscribers so that won't be included in the giveaway.  Sorry!  I just felt like it has been a long time since I posted the candy and didn't think it was fair to make everyone wait any longer.

SO please subscribe to my blog and leave a comment and I will add you to the basket of names!  I will have my son Joshua (who has Down Syndrome) pick the winner that way you know it was fair.  It would be nice to maybe hit 40 but I will be happy with whatever number I get by November 18.  To you who have recently subscribed please leave a comment as well.

Mojo Monday Challenge 318

Hi All :)

Today I finished a Christmas card with the Mojo Monday Challenge #318 sketch!  Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

This is a standard A2 card.  The 6x6 paper pad I used is Bo Bunny Silver & Gold Collection.  The Noel Recollections sentiment is embossed with Stampendous, PearLustre Embossing Powder in the color of Emerald Opaque.  I used my computer to type the inside sentiment.  I found the sentiment in Betsy Flot's Inspiration Station book (which I love).  The book is filled with Page Titles, Toppers & Quotes for Scrapbooking and Card making.  The ribbon, grommet and rhinstones are from my stash.  The pointsetta came from K&Company's Elizabeth Brownd Layered Accents set that I bought two years ago!  I really need to use some of my hoarded items more often :)

Well that is it for me today!  If you like what you see please subscribe to my blog and enter your email so you don't miss any posts :)

ABC50 321 Challenge Christmas Cards

Hi All :)
Today I made a card for ABC50 321 Challenge.  As in my previous blog I made this card and the second one for a swap I'm in on Facebook, the group is called Northern Lights.  The first card is for the ABC50 321 Challenge.  I wasn't sure if I was going to like this layout but the more I look at it the more I like it LOL!

So the challenge was to make a card with 3 different shapes, 2 pieces of patterned paper and 1 ribbon.  Here is my card:

I used Bo Bunny's 6x6 Silver & Gold Collection for my paper (isn't it pretty!)  The sentiment is a Recollection stamp set.  The ribbon and doily are from my stash.  Well that's it for my challenge card.  Now here is the other card I made for the swap:

This card was made from Graphic 45's Twelve Day's of Christmas 6x6 paper pack.  The bells and sentiment are Recollection stamps.  I used my Prismacolor pencils to color the bell image.
Well that's it for me today.  ;)

Make it a FABULOUS DAY!!

Canvas Art

Hi Ladies,

I bet you thought I wasn't coming back!  LOL!!  Life has been very hectic but I have been working on things.  Right now I'm working on a book (which is very hard).  My friend Laurie is helping me because without her it would never get done!

I've decided that I really like mixed media canvas art!  I've been watching a TON of videos and learning a lot but I have a long way to go when it comes to making the canvas look like the picture I have of it in my head LOL!  But I'm working on it.  I've made two canvas's.  One for my mother which she says she LOVES and one for myself.

Here is the one I did for my mother:

and here is the one I did for myself:

Well let me know what you think and leave a comment!  It would make my day :)

Happy Birthday

Hi Peeps :)

Today I have two cards for you.  Both are Happy Birthday cards.  The first one is an inspiration from a card I saw on Simon Says Stamp Blog.  Here is a picture of the card:
SSS Stamptember, Sept 7
Isn't it beautiful!  I don't have the stamp set so I used what I have in my stash and this is what I came up with:

The stamp set I used is an old Stampin Up set called Summer Sunflower.  I stamped the flower and the stems and leaves and fussy cut them out and adheared them to sheet music.  I then layered the card with paper from For the Record 2 from Echo Park.  The green layer is from a 12 x 12 pack I had in my stash.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is Recollections.  I guess I need to start decorating the inside of my cards now since everyone else is doing it LOL!  Maybe next time.  Oh the lacy punch is from Martha Stewart.

The second card I did is from Sketch and Scrap Blog here is the sketch:

and here is my card:

Ha ha I forgot the ribbon but that's ok I added a doily instead.  They are having a challenge over at Sketch and Scrap.  If you play along with 4 of their challenges this month you will be eligible for a gift certificate!  I'd wish you luck but I want to win!  Just kidding if you enter Good Luck beating me, ha ha.  Just have fun and enter maybe you'll win.  Ok back to business.  I used the Seen and Noted Paper Pad from Pebbles for my paper.  The sentiment is from Cardz TV stamp set "Happy Days".  The doily and sequins are from my stash.

Well that's it for me today!  Have a FABULOUS day and keep crafting!

Scrapbook Layout Snuggle Time

Hi Peeps :)

Well nothing like waiting to the last minute to upload my entry to Let's Get Sketchy Week 4 Challenge but my camera wouldn't connect with the computer!  UGH!!!  So my wonderful husband figured out the problem so I am just now adding my version of the sketch on the blog!!  Ok enough about my drama LOL.  I have to give credit to the DT team on this one because I was seriously checking there layouts out and I couldn't understand why mine were so boring and theirs were so gorgeous, well, I think I am on the right track the problem with my layouts is that I wasn't putting enough layers on them.  I still have a long way to go but I think I'm finally on my way.  Thanks DT!  Ok here is the awesome sketch

and here is mine

The paper line I used is Stampin Up.  I bought it so long ago I don't even remember the name.  The title was cut with my Cricut and the cartridge is Hello Kitty Font (love this one).  The bear is from DCWV Green Stack Chipboard and I've had that for a long time as well.  Everything else is from my stash.

So if you have the time please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Hello Fellow Crafters!!  :)

Today I have two cards that I just finished.  The first one is Mojo Monday's #307 Sketch.  I'm on a roll with using my hoarded papers LOL!  I used my Pink Paisley Butterfly Garden 6x6 pad for this card.  I've also just started using sequins and I think I'm hooked!  Here is the sketch that I followed:

and here is my card:

The next card I made from Deconstructed Jen Sketch 115.  I love the sketch but I just don't think I did it justice but here it is anyway.  Here is the sketch:

and here is my card:

I hope you like the cards and if you could leave a comment to let me know how I'm doing I would appreciate it.

I recommend you get on both of the websites email list so you can be challenged.  I love making cards and it is nice to have a bunch made for that last minute card.

And here is my interpretation of the sketch:

The paper pack I used is an old one called Coastal Venice by Me and My Big Ideas.  I've been hoarding this paper stack because I love it so much!!!  The butterflies are from Jenni Bowlin.  The lace pearls and doily are from my stash.

Well let me know what you think.  I love comments and it would make my day if you left one :)

Sending Hugs Card

Hello Girls,

Today I made a card for a friend and I thought I would share it with you.  It came from a Mojo Monday sketch but it was for last week so I didn't add it to their site.

The 6x6 paper pack I used is Bo Bunny Isabella Collection.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps and the stamp set is called Flower Friend.  The leaves that are underneath the flower also came from the stamp set, I just fussy cut them out.  The flowers and the rhinestones are from my stash.

Hope you are having a FABULOUS day.

Julie Nutting Paper Dolls

Hi Everyone!

First I want to say thank you for stopping by my blog!  Today I finished working on my paper dolls.  I know I'm a little old to be playing with paper dolls but it was so much fun and I love how they turned out!  Supposedly there is to be a paper doll banner swap on Northern Lights Illuminations Facebook page.  But if it isn't going to happen I have something to hang on my wall!  LOL!!!

I cut the dolls out of chipboard using a stencil from Prima by Julie Nutting.  I then traced and cut book pages to place on top of the chipboard.  The 6x6 paper pad I used to cut their clothes, hairbands, bow and flowers is called the Madeline Collection from Prima.  To give the flowers interest other than laying flat I sprayed them with water and crinkled them up then dryed them with my heat gun.  The Friends banner I used my Spellbinders to cut the pennants and Sizzlits to cut the letters.  I just bought the sequins and thought they might brighten up the banner.

Well I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day!!!

Card I made with Tsunmai Rose 6x6 Paper

Hi Girls,

I made this card with Tsunami Rose Lucid Flowers 6x6 paper.  This paper is gorgeous and I had a hard time covering it up!  LOL!!  Pink is one of my favorite colors so I totally love the end results with this card.

You can also join Daisy's Facebook page called I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose.  I highly suggest you head on over and take the challenges.  So without further ado here is the card I've made.

The sentiment is from Cardz TV stamp set called Heartfelt Wishes.  I used Spellbinders for the die cuts.  I also distressed the paper with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.  The flower ribbon and buttons are from my stash.

I hope this card inspires you to go to Daisy's website and make a card today.

Altered Composition Book

Hi All :)

Well I am so excited that I'm stretching my boundaries by doing different things.  I joined an altered composition book swap on one of my Facebook groups and I am so excited with how it turned out!  My partner said she liked Vintage/Romantic/Shabby Chic so I decided to use my Ladies Diary paper from Graphic 45 to make the covers.  I fussy cut the vintage lady so she would stand out.  The lace on the binding and the pearls are from my stash.  I actually found the lace in an Estate sale.  The flowers I bought on clearance from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Please leave me some love in the form of a comment and tell me what you think.

I hope everyone has a FABULOUS DAY!!!
