Scrapbook Layout Snuggle Time

Hi Peeps :)

Well nothing like waiting to the last minute to upload my entry to Let's Get Sketchy Week 4 Challenge but my camera wouldn't connect with the computer!  UGH!!!  So my wonderful husband figured out the problem so I am just now adding my version of the sketch on the blog!!  Ok enough about my drama LOL.  I have to give credit to the DT team on this one because I was seriously checking there layouts out and I couldn't understand why mine were so boring and theirs were so gorgeous, well, I think I am on the right track the problem with my layouts is that I wasn't putting enough layers on them.  I still have a long way to go but I think I'm finally on my way.  Thanks DT!  Ok here is the awesome sketch

and here is mine

The paper line I used is Stampin Up.  I bought it so long ago I don't even remember the name.  The title was cut with my Cricut and the cartridge is Hello Kitty Font (love this one).  The bear is from DCWV Green Stack Chipboard and I've had that for a long time as well.  Everything else is from my stash.

So if you have the time please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Sending Hugs Card

Hello Girls,

Today I made a card for a friend and I thought I would share it with you.  It came from a Mojo Monday sketch but it was for last week so I didn't add it to their site.

The 6x6 paper pack I used is Bo Bunny Isabella Collection.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps and the stamp set is called Flower Friend.  The leaves that are underneath the flower also came from the stamp set, I just fussy cut them out.  The flowers and the rhinestones are from my stash.

Hope you are having a FABULOUS day.

Julie Nutting Paper Dolls

Hi Everyone!

First I want to say thank you for stopping by my blog!  Today I finished working on my paper dolls.  I know I'm a little old to be playing with paper dolls but it was so much fun and I love how they turned out!  Supposedly there is to be a paper doll banner swap on Northern Lights Illuminations Facebook page.  But if it isn't going to happen I have something to hang on my wall!  LOL!!!

I cut the dolls out of chipboard using a stencil from Prima by Julie Nutting.  I then traced and cut book pages to place on top of the chipboard.  The 6x6 paper pad I used to cut their clothes, hairbands, bow and flowers is called the Madeline Collection from Prima.  To give the flowers interest other than laying flat I sprayed them with water and crinkled them up then dryed them with my heat gun.  The Friends banner I used my Spellbinders to cut the pennants and Sizzlits to cut the letters.  I just bought the sequins and thought they might brighten up the banner.

Well I hope you have a BEAUTIFUL day!!!

Altered Composition Book

Hi All :)

Well I am so excited that I'm stretching my boundaries by doing different things.  I joined an altered composition book swap on one of my Facebook groups and I am so excited with how it turned out!  My partner said she liked Vintage/Romantic/Shabby Chic so I decided to use my Ladies Diary paper from Graphic 45 to make the covers.  I fussy cut the vintage lady so she would stand out.  The lace on the binding and the pearls are from my stash.  I actually found the lace in an Estate sale.  The flowers I bought on clearance from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Please leave me some love in the form of a comment and tell me what you think.

I hope everyone has a FABULOUS DAY!!!

Flea Market and Thrift Store Finds

Hi Girls,

My AWESOME husband took me out yesterday to a Thrift Store and Flea Market to see if we could find some things for my crafting and boy did we!  Here are the pictures!

I found the doilies and eight of the milk bottles in the Thrift Store.  Everything was half price so I got both of them for $4.00 I was beyond excited!!!  There is one vendor at the Flea Market that had all the rest of the stuff!  It was a gold mine.  I will definitely be going back there.  I got a whole bag of music sheets.  There was a ton of pictures and envelopes with the mail still in them dated back to the 1920's!  I was trying to keep from doing back flips right there in the store I was so excited!!!!!!

Well I think I'm going to go on You Tube and find some video's on how to create altered bottles.  If any of you know of any good ones let me know in the comments below!  I also would like to find a group to do a swap with.

Well I'm going to go and play with my new toys.

Have an AWESOME day

My First Mixed Media Canvas

Hi Everyone :)

Well if you have been reading my blog you will remember that I said I had bought some Modeling Paste, Gesso and Matte Medium and was going to break out of my box and try some mixed media.  WELL I did and this is what I made!  I'm so excited, pleased and yes surprised that it turned out and wasn't a hot mess!!!

Well what do you think?  The word inspire I cut with my Cricut using the Home Accents cartridge.  The two tags and the butterflies were cut from the Pink Paisley Butterfly Garden 12 x 12 pack that I've been hoarding!  The flowers are Recollection and the lace is from my stash.  I used a stencil from Mini Bricks for the top.  I mixed the modeling paste with some violet paint to get the color.  Should you have any questions please let me know and I will answer them the best I can.

As this is my first steps into mixed media I would appreciate your comments on what you think!  Oh and be nice (hee hee)!

P.S. Thanks to my friend Laurie at Hip and Humble Paperworks for helping me out!  If you want to see some beautiful work you need to check out her blog and tell her I sent you!  Until next time have an AWESOME DAY!
